wednesdays
Wednesdays at Ricketts Point in Melbourne involves me visiting and painting a particular Coastal Banksia tree over a period of years. I have been documenting this tree since 2008 and have recorded it from the same view point at the same size in oil paint - in a variety of weathers and times - during this time the tree has lost limbs and foliage has grown so much so that a once clear view to the sea is now obscured by growth.
A collection of 24 of these were exhibited at Bayside Gallery in early 2019 and Bayside Council purchased ten (shown below) of the paintings which are now held in the Bayside City Art and Heritage Collection. this was recently included in the exhibition, Portrait of Place" in Bayside Gallery in Brighton Victoria.
