Gregory Alexander is an artist with an international reputation.

He exhibits his work in England, Australia, and Holland. His work is included in many public and private collections all over the world.
He has illustrated two children`s books: Kipling`s, The Jungle Book, and, Tales from the African Plains. He also co-wrote a book on Watercolour Painting; Step by Step Watercolour Painting. He is a member of the prestigious Royal Watercolour Society in London, England( RWS).

Gregory works mostly with water based mediums, and his paintings reflect his love of travel.
"It is clear from a survey of Gregory Alexander`s work that here is an artist who has travelled not only extensively, but sympathetically. Unlike many a journeying artist of the British reportage and topographical tradition, Gregory has clearly warmed to the people and their lifestyles in locations as far apart as India, Kenya, France and Japan.

His deep interest in his fellow human beings is reflected equally importantly in his understanding of their native arts. Gregory seems to visit countries not as a camera, but as an image maker willing to absorb influences from the visual arts surrounding him. While he never copies, he is able to apply the essence of original art to his work, which so rightly captures the spirits of people and place.

Thus in Venice something of the heraldic medievalism of the city emerges, while in Africa the pure sculptural quality of tribal art is echoed. In the Mediterranean we are clearly in the landscape of the Fauves, while in the East intricate patterns of carving and illumination are integrated into his paintings and drawings. All this is achieved with a remarkable consistency, which lends cohesive graphic and decorative qualities to his work, although each work is a unique and complete statement of icon-like quality."
